our story
Suzanne & Dylan set out with a goal in mind to not only run the farm traditionally but to do as much as possible to make the most of its hidden gems that many would consider wasted space commercially. Travellers Rest is set within beautiful woodland surrounding a lake - too perfect a spot not to share.
The farm is part of an environmental scheme, providing environments for rare birds and other British wildlife. This keeps the landscape varied and includes features such as a traditional orchard. Each season brings something different to see from bouncing lambs in spring to harvest time in autumn. Our aim is to make the most of seasonal and local produce, offering the best we can find from farms and businesses to share with visitors as well as our own produce.
As well as the resident flock of sheep, Suzanne's passion shows in some of the more unusual animals on the farm. Litters of friendly micro pigs are born throughout the year and love meeting visitors. A colourful array of chickens can also be found exploring the farm. These are carefully bred to produce a rainbow of coloured egg shells.
